Generations commits perjury

Generations Church complained to YouTube on April 20, 2007, that my audio clips infringed on their copyright. To do this, Generations Church filed a formal and signed statement with YouTube that claimed "under penalty of perjury" that they owned the audio files I recorded of Rich Witmer and posted on YouTube and embedded within this Web site.

The illegal complaint was obviously a desperate attempt to prevent people from hearing the truth about this church, so I immediately filed a counter-notification staking claim to my recordings.

YouTube investigated the situation and restored my clips this afternoon.

I received a copy of your “mission” from a friend via email and am compelled to comment. I know a number of people who are in various stages of involvement with this "Church" and I've yet to see an experience that has been positive for them (isn’t that what church is supposed to be?) I have a few friends in particular who have been verbally attacked by the pastor and harassed by various members upon their separation from the “Church” to the point they were fearful in their day-to-day lives… How easily the lines between religion and POWER get blurred isn’t it? It never ceases to amaze me what SOME “Holy People” feel is “the right thing to do” when it is done in “God’s Name” the same action done for any other reason would be subject to THEIR judgemet!!…There is a quote in the movie “The Kingdom of Heaven” that I just love… and I may mess it up here, but I’ll give it a try. A Knight says “I have seen all kinds of Heresies committed in the name of Religion… but holiness is in right doing…to get up each day and decide your are going to be a good man…. or not”

Thank you for what you are doing here….and in particular protecting our young marines whom find themselves far from home and looking for a “place to belong” here in our community. I will be keeping up with your blogs as my time allows….and again… Thank you.

GENERAL COMMENTS:I attended this church a couple of times with my son, who was married on the spot by this pastor one day when he walked into his office with his girlfriend. I went to one cell meeting, and asked a question about their beliefs in being saved (ie: if they believed salvation would be taken away once given)and was quickly cut off and told it would not be up for discussion. I know a few wonderful people who go to this church, and I know they truly have Jesus in their hearts. I also know some who have gone to their "Encounter" and came back walking with Christ. However, I surely question the money aspect of this church, especially after looking at that expense sheet of the pastor and his wife's. I also know of one time my son and his wife were having deep marital troubles and could not get an appointment to see this pastor for weeks and weeks. It seemed he left problems up to the cell leaders to take care of. Some of these cell leaders are very young in their early twenties. My son and his wife are now going thru a divorce. I do see good in this church, in the fact so many young people have come to know Christ. I think Generations Church should be helping the community more with all this money they are getting and not buying bmw's etc. etc. I just find all this very sad, there are so many great churches in Yuma I hope and pray these young people will pick the right one and not continue to attend Generations if they feel pressured. I know of members there who have questioned this website to their cell leaders and were told it was of the devil. I pray they all understand that Jesus Christ is always with them and it is the people and sometimes "religion" not God who can really mess things up.
